Default 20inch Torqs on a bullet?

thinking about throwing on a set of 20" AR torq thrust rims on my bullet. I saw one in a mag that looked amazing. He had 20X8 up front with a 255/35/20 and a 20X10 in the rear with a 265/30/20. 1.5" ford lowering springs, camber plates with Tokico shocks. My question is that it mentions he had to "massage the wheel wells a bit" to get them to fit. What would be involved in this? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help

Probably had to roll the lip on the fenders. Your fenders would have to be sanded down, molded, and then re-painted. And yes, that car did look amazing.

I was hoping it was something easier... is that to just make the wheel well wider? and why would it need to be wider with a 285 in the rear? I dont think it was that low where the rim was tucking and it would rub? Could it have just been the front wells? maybe to turn he needed to make the insides of the wells bigger? hmm

Better plan on buying some bigger brakes.

I think it was the july 04 MM&FF, and the bullet comes with upgraded brembos, so I think I should not have to worry too much.. although I am sure it would be better to get some bigger ones.

quick update... I emailed the mag and they told me he just took a hammer to the inside of the wells to give a little more room and that was it!

Ok? The wells are plastic, so they would either crack or shatter, not "bend"

i think he meant the lip on the fender. If you do this, please be carefull, or let a body shop do it. paint doesnt really stand up to hammers that well. if you're planning on basically folding the metal back to make an extra 1/4 to 1/2 inch of room, be aware that the paint will want to crack, and when that happens, well you know what else will..... rust. so just make sure to take the proper precautions. I used to own a 1989 SHO, guys would do the same thing to fit 18s on 'em, and before they knew it, rust city. they didnt really think a whole lot about whats happening to that metal after a hammer hits it a dozen times over.
