OK
to clear things up a little.
With the MAF pulled the ECu will use the preprogrammed "best guess" fuel/spark tables. It will not adjust for ACT/ECT and will not be able to monitor air flow to the engine it could try to use adaptive from the O2 readings but I can't remember if that becomes disabled when the MAF is excluded. While it is possible that the car will run, the tune I'm sure will be ridiculously out of wack, especially if he's dropped in 42 pound injectors with no chip or tune. From the sound of your mechanic uncle (very old school) if he knows what he is doing and was good at the craft 30 years ago, I would guess he yanked the maf, put on bigger injectors (not sure why) and adjusted the fuel pressure way down so that the car didn't fall flat on its face at WOT. The 94/95 gts where very particular in terms of mods the stock comp would accept and still allow the car to run. Can't wait to see how this guy feels about trashing the MAF his first major change in temperature, or when he can't start the car after its warmed up.
I did see a guy with a 95 last year who had ridiculous amounts of work and was running a stock computer, he had to wait 30 minutes to restart his car if it was warm else it wasn't starting, he did however have an aftermarket ignition and adjustable fuel regulator which he had dialed in for WOT, so at least he wasn't going to blow the engine.

My recomendation... put the maf back in and get a chip burned for a few hundred alot safer and more reliable, then you an start worryinng about maxing out your MAF!

I do plan on purchasing a new chip, because I know how much they really do make teh engine better compared to the stock system..Do you guys recommend any particular brands for the chip?

I now understand what you guys mean about teh MAF sensor and I will talk to my Uncle this weekend about it.

Any other recommended mods?

That's caled a strut bar or strut brace. When your car's body heats up (especially the engine compartment) the metal becomes more pliable. This means that when you're driving, and corner at a given speed, the car's body actually BENDS with the intertial forces twisting it. This causes that centrifugal impact you feel with stock suspension sedans cornering at 30mph or so. A strut bar is technically part of your suspension system. It keeps the frame of the engine bay (they make 'em for the trunk, but these are a waste of money, as you don't need them) and frame from bending in turns. It allows for tighter cornering, and more importantly, if you're running at a circuit, your engine bay won't look like a Picasso. If you're just using your car as a street car, you don't need a strut bar. You can get it to feel cool if you want, but it won't make much difference thank what I stated above. Good luck!

And agree with the folks above: It is a scientific cerainty that if you take out the MAF, and you'll be lucky to be able to accelerate at all (limp home mode should engage). Do you know what the MAF is, by the way? Maybe your uncle took out something else?
