650hp in a v8 IS NOT hard.
True, but it ain't CHEAP either, unless it's a Chevy! Damn near anybody can buy parts and make a fast Chevy but it ain't as easy or cheap with a Ford!! LOL

you can't really realistically get there with a stock 5.0 engine block as they tend to split at around 500 HP or so.
you need to go with bored and stroked 351 engine or even maybe a 460 big block to get this power level and it will cost you big big bucks in order to do it. a good aftermarket block like the Dart Iron Eagle with 4 bolt mains costs over $2,000 for the bare block alone, then by the time you add in a forged steel crank, forged steel rods, forged aluminum pistons, balancing work, high flow aluminum heads with a high lift cam, rockers, etc. you will easily land up spending close to $10,000 or more depending upon which pieces you use and how much work you can do yourself. the real bottom line, not being sarcastic at all, is:
SPEED COSTS MONEY, HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO?????
if you don't believe me, just go to some engine building sites like www.dss.com or www.bennetracing.com or www.coasthigh.com and look at some of their combinations and prices!

320?? I'd be praying for a 250 on the dyno. Sorry to burst your bubble, but hp costs more than the mild modding you have. Don't feel bad--you have a very strong pony. I got a 4.6 vert with less mods than you, and I can kick the asses of 90% of the people on the road today. Your car can do better than that, probably. But you're not going to reach 300 with natural aspiration on a 5.0. You want to break the barrier? Save for a supercharger. Good luck!

with your mods, you're looking at abou 270 hp AT THE CRANK TOPS-- I'd be surprised to even see that. It's probably at around 230 to the wheels. You'll get to your numbers don't worry-remember one important thing: It's not the mods or power that makes you win races--it's HOW you race. I've seen 400 hp cars get their asses handed to them by 230 hp mustangs because the mustang was a better driver. Focus more on your skill, and let the mods come as they may. 230 hp at the crank is damn decent. Be proud of that.
