Default WHAT THE HE...

Allright, drivin my car for the first time of the season and every time I take off from a light normally (this doesn't happen, or at least i don't hear it when i mash on it) there is a loud noise. Hard to describe, but it is a hollow metal sound. I do have an aluminum driveshaft, and i didn't notice the noise before hand, but I figure the aluminum resonates the sound more. We had the car on the lift and still can't even tell were it is comin from. My tranny is new, i don't think that is the problem, i was thinking maybe it was gear slap in the rear end or excessive play, but then i should hear it when i let off the throttle too. It happens every time i shift to, but not right away, its fine until i give just a little more gas, then it does it, not as loud but more lie a snapping noise. I cannot find anything hitting anywhere, and our best guess is the rear end (which is still a 7.5 by the way, 8.8 going in this week i guess.) Anyone had a similar problem? Thanks.

it might be pinging. run higher octane, and tighten all exhaust bolts to see if it goes away. also lower your timing to like 11-12 if you are running 87. check this first, then exhaust, and then run high octane.

Thanks for the advice, but ain't it. One thing i just noticed is that my rear end also isn't locking like it used too...suspicious...maybe I broke something?

Sounds like U-Joints, mine was doing that also so I replaced both of them and it went away.

Alright, well if they're new then that shouldn't be the problem, did you grease you're ujoints? I'm all out of suggestions.
