What is Traction-Loc?
What's the purpose of the traction-loc from Ford Racing and should I get one? I just had 3.73 gears installed on my AODE 2002 Ford Mustang. I heard that these are what frees up your left rear wheel and allows it to spin with your right wheel, helping you put down more power. RPM Performance Outlet, offers an 8.8, 28 spline for my model and year.
P.S. does "8.8 28 spline mean?"

It locks both axles so you won't have limited slip (when one wheel starts to spin, power is diverted to the other). You would only want this for the track however, as it is not good for turning since both wheels will always spin in unison. I did see an article in 5.0 awhile back where you can install a switch to turn it on and off at your leisure.
Power is being made to both wheels already my friend. Lets just say as an example, one wheel was on ice and the other wasn't. The one on ice would start to spin, so power would be cut to that one and diverted to the other. As long as both wheels have traction, you have power to both wheels.
it doesn't make any difference if it's an auto or manual....the rearend is the same.
What car do you have.....year/model?
GTs have a locking rearend so you should not have the problem of a 1 wheel burnout.....unless you have a 6.[8D]

right. The sixxer has an open rearend which means that only the right wheel drives. The GT has a locking rearend which means that when the drive wheel slips, the rearend locks and both wheels drive.
You can't have it locked all the time for normal driving because the outside wheel spins faster than the inside wheel in a turn.
