1990 gt where to start
i wanna start seting this all stock fox body up for autox and road racing and stuff like that im not sure were to start i know that i need rear disk brakes and a 5 lug conversion but should i do that first or should i start stiffining up the chassie?
good brakes 1st., (5 lug not required to go auto-xing/road course drivinguntil you can build up speed in the corners that would stress the wheels. but if upgrading brakes may as well only do it once.), lots of practice 2nd., sticky DOT tires next (tread wear rating = 200 or so), chassis stiffening next.
if you aren't experienced at either of these 2 events, you aren't going to go fast even with good equipment without practice.
chassis stiffening can be done in stages as your wallet or wife allows. i would start with good quailty rectangular full length subframe connectors.then strut tower braces, stiffer springs(bestwould be coil overs but cost much $$$). unless you are a chassis tuner, you may want to try MM's bilstines valvesfor the fox. no adjustment available, but very good for the novice.
