FWIW, they make supercharger kits for the V6 too. ;-)

I'd go with what you can afford and what will ultimately make you happy.

Also, for those dissing the V6. I know of several that would utterly f*** your GT's up badly. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a V6 stang, so get over being a GT fanboy.

WOW, calm down man. They are just saying, for performance, the GT is a better platform. Were not getting into the whole "your friends 6cyl will beat my v8, while my friends 4cyl will beat your buddies 6cyl".

And just to add, since I can't help myself, I know of several v8's that would utterly f*** up v6 stangs.

I know man. In the defense of V6's, there has been a lot of crap given about how the GT's are so much better. I just think the opinions are biased and are judged soley based on the size of the motor and performance. It's cool.

Yes, there are plenty of V8's that can whoop on V6's. That should be somewhat obvious....

We are cool man. No worries.

A stock 99-04 GT or 05+ GT should easily beat your buddies bmw. A 2005 V6 with a cai/tune should be able to take that bmw too if it's stock.

And the 05+ V6's are no slow pokes. With only a couple thousand dollars into my car I blow away a good amount of cars and some impressive ones on the street and I am naturally aspirated too. If I were to throw a turbo on a few more bolt-ons(which is what I am planning) I will have an 11sec daily driver. Don't believe me, look at fazm's numbers and his set-up.

Good Luck with your car choice. As stated, pick what you can afford. 99-04 GT=about the same price as 05+ V6's with similar miles. I picked the V6 when I was shopping because of the body style, if I was only after power I would have got the GT. About the same insurace per year too.

i actually dont regret buying my 6er even if my car is more expensive then a GT, its going to cost me about the same to safely support ~450 HP weather it be a v6 or a GT, the only differance is theres a LOT of 450 HP GTs and NOT a lot of 450 6ers.

Your buddy can talk crap about handling since he's got a beamer.
would you tell a Buick guy its a waste of time to build a Grand National? just so you know, ford copied the 231 GN motor for their 3.8 but used a on center block and aluminum heads that will flow better then E7s or stage 1 ported PI heads. unfortunately most of the people who buy v6s dont build them or buy them for the simple fact "there just a mustang".

if you want a vehicle quick out of the box, if you want to actualy build something as easy as a 5.0 but newer, the 3.8/4.2 is a damn good place to start

I definitely agree with basing it off of what makes you happy. A v8 is good if you're not mechanically inclined or if you want the sound of a v8. Most engines out there can be built to be brutal. One of the guys on this forum have a turbo 4 cylinder mustang with a vid of him annihilating a 500+ hp cobra.

That's good, but many do.
A V8 won't sound like a weed whacker either. I've never heard a good sounding sixxer stang.
