V6 or V8
I would say at the end of the day, there's always going to be someone faster than you so it really doesn't matter since most of this is personal preference with the resources YOU PERSONALLY have. This arguement could go on forever, but it really comes down to money, and experience just like it always does.
I like sitting at 500HP without having to use power-adders as a good gain to get there. I like N/A engines, and the V8 delivers the power I expect without needing a supercharger or turbo (however I DO have cars that have these on them.) I've also had plenty of V6's before, and for being two cylinders down you can do quite a bit to make them a monster if you throw parts at it in places where the engine may be lacking, just like any other builder.
I think the V6 is a great platform to work on if you have the time, money, and undivided dedication to get somewhere with it. I guess the way I look at it is this: if the car was made to have the space for a V8, why not put one in there? I wouldn't say the same thing for a Supra, though. I'd keep the V6 in there because that entire car was built around the V6.
I'll never bash on a V6 modder because if they can kick my *** and go beyond that while having the disadvantage, I'd say you could probably learn something from this person. Those V6's have some nasty potential as well. I'd say it's probably best to just never assume anything, or you might find out your *** hurts really bad after getting raped by something you considered inferior. As far as I'm concerned V6 or V8, if we have the same type of car we're on the same team. No use in hating someone for trying something different, or simply not being able to afford what you can. I think if someone saved all their pennies up and barely afforded a V6, the response SHOULD be that you pat them on the back instead of sticking your nose up in the air and saying "what a waste, because there's better out there." .. because in that regard the same question could be: Why did you buy a mustang GT when you could save and buy a Cobra? It's better, right?

Yeah, i like it. I can already see from the pictures that i have found of them that i would weld the "tabs" that attach the inner veins to the outer ring and then grind them smooth to lower the drag coefficient on of the thing, in doing so it should make air pass more freely and get more overall HP.
lol ... whatever makes you feel better, I never said I built a v-6 anything - I wouldnt waste my time but my friend had one, lots of bolt ons, gear etc... still slower than a stock GT, sounded like garbage and piece of crap to boot
and all the girls I know dont know wouldnt know the difference... much less give a damn, put it this way, you all those photo shoots they do with hot models and tricked out saleens and roushes, about 95% of them are kit cars... you can kid yourself all you want
Lots of bolt ones doesn't mean it was done well or right. One could toss random bolts ons onto a GT and make minimal gains as well. And you did say you had 'experience' with V6 cars, so I figured it was hands on.
