well he did say cheap lol cheapest hci set up i can think of is gt40 or gt40p, but if the money allows it then by all means get some twisted wedge heads and track heat intake with a stg 1 cam or another better cam. quick noob question though is it really possible to make 300 rwhp with hci?

It's been done numerous times. Usually automatics will not reach that number. However, a set of AFR heads, custom ground cam and Holley Systemax or Trickflow Track Heat intake will normally hit that number or right under/over it. A good porting/polishing to the heads(even gt-40's) can help get you there.
