Why save the money up to buy a beater when you can't keep a mustang on the road when it rains? You'd just wreck it too.
+1... thats where its at just learning how to drive in it. I had my Mach1 through 2 midwest winters full of ice and must say that i never had a problem with the car in the ice and snow, she would get a bit squirmy at times but once ya get a feel for it its nothing

I put on high end Yokohamas which have a very aggressive tread almost like knobbies mounted on my spare stock rims.I have no problem except that if the snow gets too deep and then I start plowing. And I try very hard to stay out of boost.lol

not all of us work in the middle of a field... i live in ma and work in boston..
hardly the "training ground" and i went from a 120hp fwd honda too a 300hp modded gt rwd.. the fact that i didnt put it up a polls *** like every other teenager around here says something

and it was declared totaled the side frame was kinked just enough =( but good news is insurance payed off the car and now i can look into something i can handle like maybe a 05-07 v6 manual for now until i get some "practice time"

I dont see the reason for getting ill about it, stuff happens and I sure wouldnt use the whole teen thing as a defense, I know a lot of guys who got sick rides in their teens and years later are yet to have a wreck, luckily I am one of them. a stick v6 would be a great starter car if youre new to the rwd world. Its still a mustang and its just as much fun to toss around as a v8 is, if not more. gotta love the weight lost by knocking off two cylinders....

Wasn't intentionally being an ***.

Here would be something I would say if I were being an ***: It's a good thing you are getting a v6 because obviously you can't handle a GT.

But I wouldn't say something like that because I'm not an ***.

I drive my 67 in the snow in the mountains. It's all about driving right and HAVING THE CORRECT TIRES!! Tires will make a HUGE difference. Trying to drive in rain/snow/ice with a summer only tire....you could be Micheal Schumacher, you're still not gonna go anywhere. There's a reason that F1 and road race cars switch to a rain tire when the track gets wet. The correct tires will make the difference between being able to control the car or not, after that it's up tot he driver.
