Default Replacing t5 1-2 shift fork

So ive bent my shift fork going from 1st gear to 2nd. Is this a job that i can do by myself? or... am i going to have to take it somewhere? Also, if i can do this by myself anyone have a diy of the process. Thanks

Unless you have a lot of knowledge in rebuilding manual transmissions, your best bet is to take it to someone that does. You can save yourself a bunch of money by taking it out of the car yourself, though. Might as well check the clutch and rear main seal while you are there since the tranny is already out.

Don't know. Every area is different and the labor rates can be all over the board. I'd do some calling around to some of the local transmission shops to see what they charge.

If it was a T-5 i would say it was easy. but i think your vehicle has the T-45 which you have to split trans to get at the forks.

All the more reason to take it to a shop. You may not even know what transmission you have. Not a jab at you, just being truthful.
