Clutch problems on a 2008 Mustang
I've been having some trouble on acceleration with my new mustang. It seems that when the temperatures are colder or below freezing, the clutch slips during acceleration. When i accelerate and go through the gears the engine tends to "rev" like the transmission slips into neutral. This happens in all gears.
However, this doesn't happen when it's warm outside. Acceleration is normal during periods of warmer temps. Also, a mechanic told me that if i'm able to take off from a standstill in third gear, that is a tell-tale sign that the clutch needs to be replaced. My mustang is able to take off in third gear from a stand-still
Any thoughts on this?

Well, based on what you just said. Probably just needs a clutch, the flywheel resurfaced, and you might as well put in a new TOB and pilot bearing. I would buy a good TOB, since they're not much. I went back to the OEM clutch in mine, others will chime in on what clutch you should get. I would stay away from Spec clutches, just google "Spec Clutch Failure" and that should be enough to turn you away from them.
thanks man for the advise.
the problem is..the darn thing only has about 45k miles on it...the clutch should last at least 150 thousand miles. I just bought it about three months ago from some lady...i guess she was riding around with her foot on the clutch the whole time..lol...
