Default How to remove 3m tape?

I used the 3m auto double sided tape to tape on my blackout panel. Well lets just say I used too much. How can I remove the Kanpur panel now without damaging the paint or the blackout panel? I'm getting my car details and want the paint under it cleaned. Also I bought some window louvers - those are applied with 3m tape too right? (I bought them used so they don't have any tape). Where should I put the tape on them? All around or just a couple spots or what?
Should I use a heat gun to take that off..?

see if you can get some quick-detailing spray between the two and let it soak for as long as you can. Continue to spray some between the two while you try to pry them apart. IF that doesn't work try some goo-gone.

i use dental floss to remove badges etc. Then you misc window cleaner, wax etc to remove the little tape left behind.

I had removed one of my louvers a few weeks back to replace the 3M tape on it. I just pulled it off slowly and it didn't leave any residue on the window.

Use 50lb monofilament fishing line like a saw between the panel and the body. Once the panel is off, the best stuff to use is 3M adhesive remover. GooGone is good for doing the final clean-up, but will take a lot longer than the 3M product.

Also ensure that you use an automotive grade 3M tape for the window louvers.
