sand storm

08 GTCS. On very windy days when driving into the wind my car has a weird rattle/ hi pitch sound in the rear area of the car near the fender well area. Only under these windy conditions. If the wind is behine me,,bo problem. Have looked everwhere underneath secured all cables,hangers, fixtures,etc...and stiil it goes on.Checked rear valance, trim,etc. Driving me crazy! Anyone ever have this happen or heard of this problem???

I recently posted where I fixed a similar problem. On my car it was the sound insulation in the rear wheel wells. There were a bunch of pebbles and tiny rocks that had gotten between the insulation and the wheel well and I think that's what I was hearing the most, it sounded like something fluttering in the wind combined with a hard object banging against metal.

Here's an image of what I'm talking about, this is the front part of the driver side wheel well.

When I removed the plastic clips holding it on and pulled the insulation back is when all the junk fell out from behind it. I then put some foam sealer in between the insulation and the body and haven't heard the noise again.

I don't know if the 08' has the insulation on it, I never noticed it on my previous Mustangs.
