Default Transmission Gearset Question

Hey all, I searched and found threads, but none that really had what I was looking for. So I'm asking here.

I've got a 95 GT 5.0 and I'm rebuilding the manual T5 in it. I had to get a couple gears, starting looking online and I noticed that my teeth counts weren't matching what I found online. The reason, it turns out, is that this particular car has a 95 V6 transmission (surprise surprise - bought the car used, I guess the original went south). There was no tag on the trans, so I'm going by the date stamped on the case, which is 95, and the gearset.

Specifically, the cluster gear that I have is a 052, which is what was used in the SN95 V6 Mustangs. The V8 got a 062 and then 068. Supposedly the 052 was rated at 265 ft-lbs torque, where the 068 was rated at 300 ft-lbs.

My question is this: how much power can the V6 gears really support? I use this car for road races and soon AutoX, with a stock motor (about 185whp/245wtq). I'll probably go up to around 300whp at some point, but not much past that. Will these gears work fine? Should I just go ahead and replace the gearset with the 068 one? I'm supposing the V6 gears aren't as strong as the V8 ones, but if people are reliably running ~330ft-lbs wtq through these gears, then I don't need to change.

Thoughts?
