Default Pinion flange

Hello guys, I have a 06 mustang v6...having trouble with the pinion seal leaking, after three attempts of changing the seal I realized the flange has some scratches so I grabbed one for the local junkyard. Thinking all 7.5 rearend are the same I took one from a 98 v6...it’s smaller and the driveshaft doesn’t bolt to it. What’s the deal? My biggest concern is I swamp them real quick not wanting lose to much gear oil....are the splines the same? It seem to slide on okay. Thanks

You can't just assume "and 7.5 is a 7.5" and think that parts will fit. As you found out, the driveshaft bolt pattern and size are different. You have to use the parts for your car.
