Default Dead Pedal and Gas Guard.

I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem. My only real complaints about the new cars are the area where the pedals are. There is no dead pedal for one, just carpet. WHY ford did this, I have NO freakin idea but there needs to be something there that will not wear over 6 months. Also, the other thing is the area where the right foot stays when idle. My old 00 GT had ripped carpet on the right side of the wall. I test drove a Corvette and they actually had a plastic 8x8 inch shield where the top of the foot would rest. I thought this was a great idea. With all the improvements over the last gen of mustang, i was suprised they didn't notice or fix this. They even took away the dead pedal.

I got new floor mats from CDC and i thought about cutting up the stock floormats and placing them in these areas but before i go and screw them up, i was wondering if anyone knew of some aftermarket parts for this problem.

Same with my SVT Focus. I went thru the Fordracing catalog, and got a deadpedal and put it in. Matches the rest of the pedals.(Which came stock as the metal with black "nubs".

I didn't like the lack of the dead pedal either. Carpet on a foot rest is not a dead pedal. I also have a 06 Subaru Baja Limited and I noticed one day that Subaru had placed their dead pedal over the carpet. Went to the Subaru dealership, got a dead pedal out of stock and it fits perfect. Problem solved.

Go to mustangtuning.com. They have the Ford racing dead pedal for about $14.99+free shipping.
