I would keep it in car, but out of direct sunlight
Just in case you get some bad gas and have to retune
Besides your car is loaded with electronics raido, amp, ecu. and they still work in the heat

i keep it in the original box, in another smal box that holds washer fluid bottle, booster cables etc etc in the trunk.
I keep is specifically for if i'm ever on a road trip and can't find Sunoco 94 grade gas when I need to

I keep it in my car. Usually in the center console, too much crap in the small glovebox. I might need to datalog, or check codes on someone elses car, who knows when I might need it???
