Paint chips
What do you guys do about paint chips from rocks etc? I was thinking about taking it somewhere next year and telling them to fix every paint chip they can find. I know they can't be avoided, but it really ticks me off to see small paint dings on my new car. Seems like highway driving is how I got all mine.

RE: Paint chips
Well, after trying dealer touch up paint I desided that it looked better without touching it up. Dont know what else to do about it less repaint hood every few years. I really hate it cause my under paint color is a kinda white/grey and it bugs me to no end!
Hey Wally, one thing. Ego is everything with our cars. You have "speed chips" not "paint chips"
Good luck bro!

I like that flewbyu "speed chips"
Basically no matter how you drive, your always going to get little dings and chips on your front end. They are almost un-avoidable. I'm sure every car has them. I'm not going to bother with touching them up because they are just going to happen again and you can't even see them anyways unless you are looking for them.

RE: Paint chips
Some clear nail polish is a quick way to prevent a chip from rusting and causing a fugly paint blister.
You'd spend your whole life on the car with a jewelers loupe and a toothpick if you got wanged up about every little chip. I have one decent sized one just off my drivers side headlight, well two, it looks like something odd-shaped hit my headlight and slid off and caught the paint by the edge. That one I might touch up, since it's noticable, as well as a couple larger ones inside the door frame while I'm at it.
I have a handful of really teeny pinprick looking ones that I only notice when I'm waxing and getting up close and personal.
That's the cost of driving it. After all, it's a mustang and driving is what it's for.

Worse than Paint Chips
What I hate even worse is the sight and sound of a rock bouncing off the windshield and seeing a slight ding or fracture immediately afterwards. I've already had one repair done but I still know it's there. I'm wondering if I have to ever get the windshield replaced, who's gonna have the mesh pony logo that's behind the mirror on the glass besides a FORD dealer?
I've been lucky with just a few paint chips so far. My vinyl stripes have taken a few hits and saved the underlying paint.

Use 3m paint protector.....
Im in the process of having the whole front end of my car wrapped with it. Right now I just have the hood (18 inches up the hood to be exact), front of the fenders, door edges, rocker panels (under the door) behind the rear tires...im gonna go back and get the whole bumper cover done. Its virtually invisible....
