I drove 2 - 07 GTs today, awesome power and thought stock exhaust sounded decent

 

get a cai and tune, stock exhaust is fine, no hp gain from mufflers, unless you want to spend $ on chrome tips

 

Nothing wrong with that.....

I think im just getting old and hard of hearing is all.

 

Stock I think the car sounds pretty good..... on my initial test drive, I loved the throaty growl. Since I have been hanging out with a bunch of mustangs with H-pipes and axle backs, etc., the stock system is too quiet compared to them. Needless to say, I now have a set of SLP's sitting in the living room waiting to be installed tomorrow

 

Don't let the stock exhaust sound be a deciding factor for your purchase decision. It's very easy and inexpensive to replace, and there are tons of choices to make it a bit louder, or a lot louder, with or without drone, etc. For a completely stock car I think it was decent and sounded nothing like a honda But I wanted a bit more growl and swapped my exhaust a couple days after delivery (well ok, I originally got the SLP LM and got a LOT more growl, and then swapped to the GTA which are not as loud as the SLP)

 

It's all what you like really, if you want really loud sound then you'll need something else, but my stock exhaust sounds really good now after I installed a CAI with a tune, besides axlebacks will only net you noise not power. Just like a motorcycle, some are just louder than others, its personal.

 

I had my sister-in-law (my salesman) do a couple of driveby's so I could hear the stock exhaust from the other end. Sounds ok as it passes by. Not real loud or obnoxius, but has a nice note to it and is lud enough to be noticed.

 

Stock sounds good, especially if you fly by a cop and they don't look up from their newspaper.

 

Stock sounds great, the FRPP GTA sound better, deeper!! You will love em!!
