Default Head Shaving

It's an old muscle car trick - shave the heads a few 1/1000's to increase compression. Has anyone tried it or heard of good/bad results?

This is a very interesting question, by increasing the CR from the stock 9.8:1 to say 10.5:1-11:0 you gain lots more power, i hear 50hp is possible.

I was thinking of doing the same but in a different way, using thinner head gaskets from www.cometic.comthat way saving your heads from shaving if one day you decided to go FI.

BTW you can't go more than 11:1:1 CR if you plan on using 93 pump gas, I believe tuning will be a must also..

Yea our racing enignes get ported and decked all the time. Really helps compression and power.

As far as our stangs go, just get some thin copper or aluminum gaskets, none of those thick metallic crappers.

Works great.

you mean milling the heads?

you can also deck the block i think

or get thinner compressible head gaskets as well

and some domed pistons.

btw, nice username haha
