Would it be a wise decision to install a stronger torque convertor when doing something like this? I found one by TCI called StreetFighter that's supposed to increase 1/4 mile time by .5 seconds. I'm guessing too that this TC is also stronger to help with high levels of boost? They also said with this TC, you will ALWAYS stay in the power band. That sounds cool b/c the stock parts with an auto sure doesn't.

It always wise to upgrade you TC on an auto in boosted applications but thats up to you! With the Whipple you make boost at 1800-2000 RPMs all the way to your rev limiter (mines at 6700 and I never go over 6000 RPMS anyway). You will lose some TQ in the upper powerband (over 5000 RPMS) but I continued to make max HP until 6500 RPMS. Every car is different and will not dyno the same. I have a stick though but the shop that does my installs I believe uses the stock TC...... I think!

Just to clarify when you purchase a H.O. Kit for an Auto through us it comes with a 7lb pulley. The tune it comes with is the 10psi tune but adapts to the lower boost level of the pulley the kit comes with. If you want to run 10psi on the Auto all you have to do it purchase the 10psi pulley seperately and slap it on.
Hope that helps. Jared

Also, is there very much difference between the Whipple tune and the VMP tune you guys sell with the Whipple? From a safety-of-the-car's-components standpoint, is either of them the better choice? Very much performance difference between the two? I have always heard that the Whipple tune was pretty decent.
