Default Running Rich?

Ok so I got a tune from BamaChips a while ago and now that its got cold it seems like my car runs REALLY rich when it first turns on. I mean it pops when I take off in first gear and then take my foot off the gas and it decelerates. Anyone every have this problem when they tune their car? I am going to try to put the stock tune on and see what it does when I do the same thing and see if it pops. I was just worrying cause my exaust pipes were pretty black only after maybe two weeks of not cleaning the pipes.

All cars run rich when they are cold and are first started. Mine does it too. The stock tune probably does it as well.

It's normal for your engine to run rich when you first start it in the morning and especially if it is real cold out. I would think that your pipes would "clean" themselves after it got to operating temps unless you do a lot of quick hops around town and never really get to burn the carbon out of the exhaust. If you aren't having any driveability issues, and your fuel economy is ballpark from where it always is, I wouldn't worry about it. The back pressure popping is normal too and my auto has done it since new if I rev it when the engine is cold.

I like it when it's that cold. The duals put out a fog rivaled only by the DDT mosquito fog machines that we used to run through in the summer time when I was a kid. Sort of like jet vapor trails.

Yea but if it runs too rich we are going to lose power with the tune.
