Here is a look at the chains before I took it apart. As far as I know the chains are the same size so the should hit the mark at the same time right?

well im not sure where the marks are but looking at links you have circled it looks like on the left chain the circle is 4 links down from the deck of the block but on the right chain its only down 2 links from the deck. I would think timing is off

That works! I saw the other video on there...damn that was a lot of smoke!

When that happened how did the car behave? Was it running weird or just shut off? I'm guessing the CEL was on.

Just saw the videos for the first time, that was some nasty smoke coming out. The caption says that you hit the rev limiter, what was it set at? I've had mine up to 7000 on the dyno without any problems but you have a 302 so I'm sure its different.

Yea mine is at 7000 and that was not the problem the piston was mellting a little more on every pass and that was just the breaking point. I dont thik 7000 is to much for this moter but it will shift at 6500 to be sure for now. All my dyno runs go to 6800 .

The more and more I look through the pics I think the chains were off 1 tooth from each other . I blew up the pics realy large on my computer and looked real hard at the crank gear and the chains and the chains are 1 tooth off from each other . What i am seeing is that on 1 chain the gear tooth is in the center of the link and the other chain has the gear tooth inbeyween the links. If the chains are not lined up then no matter how many times you turn the motor over the timming tab will never line up becouse the chains are the same length. And this would explain the P0012 code.
