Thats almost like comparing apples and oranges. ARH are one of the best headers out there. The Macs are a good quality product for the price, but if you can afford the ARH's then go with those.

ARH> mac. ARH are probably about the best headers you can buy for these 3V motors. Stainless works comes in at a close second.

Go with ARH. They stole Kooks' bestdesigner to design the headers for the Mustang. They are of high quality and fit perfectly.

Because I wanted the Prochamber, I wanted matching length headers so I bought MAC headers.

I would say there are 4 categories that makes a header quality

1. Fitment - I had absolutely no issues installing my MACs. It took me the standard 8-9hrs in my garage. That's with disconnecting the steering column, disconnecting the motor mounts one side at a time + having no clue what I was doing cause it was my first time.

2. Durability - With 304 stainless being the best for looking clean & dissipating heat, is it really better than ceramic 409? I think of it kind of like the rest of our exhaust system. Do most people buy 304 mid pipes, over axle pipes, axlebacks? Probably not, cause who's gonna look at it. 409 ceramic coated will outlast the life of the car. Anything is better than the fugly stock cast iron headers.

3. Performance - Yes 1-5/8 are better for N/A cars and 1-3/4 better for FI. So it makes a difference what you want done to your car down the road. But the difference between a mid length and full length LT is minimal. I'm sure people will debate that. I've talked to Brenspeed, Alternative Auto, and Livernois about the differences. Each one agreed there is almost no "hp" difference because almost every car is different in their setup.

4. Cost - Its really all about what you can afford. I personally wouldn't spend close to $1k for just headers. I'd rather buy headers and a matching mid pipe for the same price. Brenspeed's "Big MAC" package is a pretty sweet deal for under a grand.

I was on the fence on buying JBAs or MACs. I was shopping for new products but through craigslist, and classifieds. I try to save money as much as possible. I got my MAC's + Prochamber, brand new for under $700. So it pays to take your time. Again, these are just my opinions. So I'm not trying to flame anyone or knock their decisions.

I also looked at a lot of headers recently, Mac, American Racing, Kooks and Borla.

I ended up getting the Borla LT headers with O/R Xpipe and Aggressive exhaust system. (still waiting for them to arrive) It just seemed easier ordering everything from one manufacturer, though it doesn't really matter.

I suggest Borla>Kooks>ARH>Mac...
