Does brenspeed just modify the built-in tunes that come on the tuner, or should there have been custom "brenspeed" tunes in addition to the 3 canned ones?

Those are the "custom" canned tunes. The tuner is originally empty then Brenspeed installs their canned tunes to match your vehicle/request. Also, when you install a tune to your car it saves the stock tune on the programmer, so you can later return it to stock if so desired.

Excellent, that's what I thought, just wanted to double check. Can't wait to really put the car through its paces.

Oh, and just a word of warning to anyone thinking about getting the JLT II CAI.

It looks and performs really well once its on, but the 3-piece design can be a problem. Be prepared to cuss alot when you're trying to get the intake tube into the elbow.

Also, one more question, just to ease my mind.

If there was something wrong w/ the install, like a clamp that wasn't quite tight enough, or something, how easy would it be to tell?

Like would the car run noticebly rough, or throw error codes, or what?

Just looking for a little insight.

Thanks.
