Default Air Filter Question

I have an '07 GT/CS 5 speed that is all stock. I do not have the cash right now to add CAI but was wondering if it worth it to add a K&N air filter for now as I have 19k miles with the original air filter, or do I replace it with a regular stock air filter. Will the K&N really give extra HP and gas mileage? Just rying to weigh out my options as money is a little tight.

Thanks

If your gonna do a CAI/Tune(you will most likely need a tune) then I wouldnt bother with the drop in. You might want to check/change your stock filter though.

Replace it with a stock filter and save your money for a CAI.

just for the sake of reference, here
are some dyno results from way
back in 05.....

i don't know what the K&N panel filters
cost, so you just have to decide if
it's worth it or not

The drop-in K&N won't get you diddly. Save your $$ for the CAI & tune.

Looks like the K&N actually loses power which seems to be what I keep seeing in all the forums!

K&N drop ins are 'tide me overs' and a waste of time.
CAI and a tune FTW.
Get a WIX filter and save the $$ for the CAI and tune.
