a lot of dyno tunes require you to have one anyway. what mods do you have... if it isn't anything major, the dyno isn't going to show much of a difference from a canned tune.

I think you would be good with a tune from places like Brenspeed. They have been doing them for quite some time and have them dialed in pretty well for the mods that you have. I would recommend a dyno tune after mods such as a supercharger. As far as type, that will depend on your tuner. Brenspeed for example uses SCT.

Is the SCT user friendly? i'm not very informed on Modifying cars and will the handheld tuner allow me to do it myself?

I loved my SCT! It is very user friendly. Brenspeed.com is the way to go! Both my hubby and I got our tuners and tunes from them

Unless you REALLY, REALLY know what you're doing, a CUSTOM tune from the likes of Bama or Brenspeed is the way to go. You can play with any tune using a handheld but it's not recommended since you can do some serious damage to the engine if you don't know your way around fuel mapping and such.

A custom tune is not a canned tune. Bama, Brenspeed, VMP and others write tunes specifically for your car based on your PCM and your mods. A canned tune will work with most any stang and typically won't have the kick of a custom tune. A dyno tune will "fine tune" a custom tune. Some people can't tell much if any difference between a custom and dyno tune. If you're looking for every last bit of power AND you have a good shop nearby, a dyno tune may be the one for you. Plus, it's nice to know what your numbers are.

If you can, dump the K&N. There are other CAI's that perform better with these tunes.

SCT X3 is what i used from VMP. At the end of the day, it won't matter if you get it from Bren, VMP etc. What matters is that you GET IT. You have an auto tranny..don't wait any longer. Wake up that pony. If you need more convincing, you'll be priming the economic pump by spending some money. So, you can be patriotic every time you mash the gas pedal
