Default boomtube exhaust question

So I just sold my GTA's on Ebay and am looking at getting another axle back. The GTA's IMHO were not any more aggressive than the stock mufflers. I would like an aggressive muffler that lets people know I'm coming an going without giving myself a nosebleed. I've been seriously looking into the Boomtubes or the SLP power flo's. I've listened to the sound on youtube and I think the boomtubes sound great...I just don't want my wife to never want to ride in the car again. Also, I am confused on another thing...what is the difference between cat-back and axleback exhaust...is it just the location of the muffler...and really what does that do? Do the mufflers hang low then? One more thing, I want to stick with the stock H as I hear the X's have more "rasp" to them...are high flow cats worth it and will they last? Thanks in advance!

The X with high flow cats will make your car sound better and louder. As long as you get quality cats you will be fine as far as reliability.

Yeah those sound incredible. They're the GT500 KR mufflers. Seem a little $$$ though.

I'm a HUGE supporter of the Boomtubes. I can't say enough about them. They are pure secks and don't cost a whole lot.

Here's my post on them: https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...-a-boomin.html

Thanks for the replies...yea the price on the FRPP's are kinda high. SirKnightTG...it's because of your rant of the boomtubes is why I want them...I just don't want my next post to be "I'm divorced"...ha ha ha! Anyhow...there is no exhaust on it right now...if I fire the car up the way it is, is this what i should expect sound wise, or do the boomtubes tame it down a little bit. Thanks again...

Depending on how this post goes I might get some Boomtubes.... I have the Borla Stingers and I don't even notice the drone anymore I LOVE the sound of Boomtubes from what I have seen on youtube and I would love to go a bit louder/obnoxious but not lose the deepness of the stingers so much and it seems like Boomtubes do exactly that... I will keep the stingers of course for later use or if I want to tone it down a bit but for the price of the boomtubes I figure I should just go for it..... people weren't lieing when they said cops in LA had better stuff to do then pull people over for semi-loud exhausts.
