Ok i just bought a used tuner today. My questions is should i wait till i get a c&l before buying a tune or can i get the tune and just add the c&l to it myself. I have never used one of these before so i am unclear how they work.
Say i get a 91 race tune with a stock car and then buy the CAI can i just make the adjustment myself or do i need to buy another tune. Thanks.

You would need to get another tune to take advantage of the extra airflow of the CAI, so I would just wait if its coming soon. Also make sure to get your tune from a good source (ie Bama or Brenspeed)

+1 if the CAI is comming soon, if it's gonna be awile then you could get a custom tune for the stock setup from brenspeed, then when you get the CAI, if you by it from Brenspeed, then they will send you an updated tune at no charge.

No charge? Really thats not a bad deal.. How can they afford to do that. i mean wouldn't i be able to do that with every upgrade i get.

if you buy a tune from brenspeed and you want free tunes for every mod extra that you do you are gonna have to buy the parts from them.bama in the other hand dont care where you get the parts from,he will retune for the new mods for free.

You can also check if the SCT tuner has any tunes in its memory for your stock air intake.

If the tuner is not locked, personally I would just wait for the CAI.

Just an FYI and you may already know this but:

You bought a used tuner? Have you checked to make sure that the tuner isn't locked to the car that first used the tuner? If the person did not return their car to stock before sending you the tuner it won't matter what you do, because you will not be able to load a tune on your car.

the tuner i bought is *new* never been used on a car. He bought a sc and it came with it and his tuner uses sct not diablo. so he sold it to me. thanks for all the comments i am going to wait till i get the cai and just buy it at the same time.
