Default Ideas for a year from now

I'm deploying to the "Sand Box" in two months and I'll be storing my awesome but stock GT for about a year. I'm interested in your experiences with upgrades that I can do when I get back. I'm looking to upgrade both the suspension and engine but I have a family and bank account I need to think about.

First, I'd like to improve my handling and ride. I was looking at the factory handling package when I bought the car but I couldn't afford it then but I liked what I saw. She's got the 18" tire/wheel package and the wheel wells could stand to lowered. I wouldn't mind being able to go around a bumpy turn and not be thrown around like I do now. What are your thoughts?

The other has to do with the engine. We can always use more power but I can't afford a supercharger, though I'd sell you my first born if you'd still put him through college. Obviously she could use a cold air kit but which one and is there something else?

Take care and be safe.

You have a real chance to save some ca$h over there, but your situation is not like mine was in that you have other hands in the bank account. So far my performance mods are C&L Racer intake, BamaChips tune, MAC Mufflers, and 3.73 rear gears. It's PDQ but could probably use some LCA's. Just whatever you do make a plan so that you don't have to undo much when you want to upgrade further. You'll have a bunch of time on your hands to plan and pore over all the websites.
