Yeah I know that, they are listed seperately. Thanks!

Well I did it - I ordered the following:

Magnaflow Tru-X X-Pipe - little performance gain. may make the exhaust note raspy.

Borla Stinger S-Type Catback

C&L Racer Cold Air Intake

SCT X3 Tuner from Brenspeed (Thanks for the advice Nuke)

Magnaflow Tru-X X-Pipe catted

Borla Stinger S-Type Cat-Back

Shelby Strut Tower Brace

Steeda Mustang Underdrive Pulley System

Motive Performance Plus 3.90 Gears (8.8in) with bearing kit

*C&L Performance 3 Valve Intake Manifold

*Ford Racing Twin 62mm Billet Throttle Body (Thanks Blue Meanie)

- These two even Brenspeed acknowledges are not going to do much until I buy the Paxton centrifigual intercooled supercharger next summer, but they'll help A LOT when I get it

*Comp Cams Stage II XFI NSR Camshafts (I'll get these and put'em in when I get the supercharger. Brenspeed has had great success with NSR's and say I don't necessarily need to go to the high-lift spring model with the supercharger)

I think this package will do very nicely. I'm shopping for suspension kits to do when I do the supercharger and cams - or maybe sometime thereafter - that will be a pretty big nut to crack in itself.

Thanks for all your comments, they really helped!

Congrats on the mods, but I wouldn't have got the 3.90 motive gears. From what I have read, unless you have a miraculous install and the stars are alinged just right, they will whine.

Yeah, I have heard that about Motive... and FRPP and every other gear set on every car that's ever had a gear set put to it; typically due to going "cheap" and either trying to do it yourself or going to some toothless wrench jockey. That's not a mistake I intend to make - I'll have them installed by someone who knows what they're doing. I've already selected a mechanic that's been successful with numerous Motive installs.

Even with the best installers, motives are subject to whine. I am not saying that all motives whine. Motives have a slightly different tooth cut pattern than FRPP that might be the reason that motives tend to whine a majority of the time.

It's my understanding that Motive actually makes gears for Ford? Am I missing something?

As far as i know, you are correct. Ford racing makes 3.08, 3.31,3.55, 3.73 and 4.10 gearsets. They sell 3.90,l 4.30, 4.56, and 4.88 , which are made by Motive, but package as Ford Racing. All good. Just get a good install.

That's correct, but there is a difference. Motive gears will end in a M and FRPP will end in an A, so even though motive makes the gears for ford, the two gears (FRPP and Motive are different).
