Default throttle hiccup

ill just give a background, in case any of it relates to the problem. 05 gt, CAI with brenspeed 87 tune. i was in vermont for the week skiing, didnt drive it too much for the week, and it was well below freezing. dont know if thats pertinent, but there it is

so i was driving going about 65 and i downshift into 4th gear to overtake a truck. i gave it some good gas, not pedal to the metal, but a good amount. as it accelerates, there was a throttle bobble, or hiccup (whatever you want to call it, it cut out) around 3k rpms and then it kicked in pretty good again. it happened twice on a 3 hour trip back

i know that the cams make it really kick at around 3k, but it didnt kick up, it cut out and then kicked in. so whats going on? thanks in advance

bad gas and the altitude? is that the only time it ever happened? if this happens constantly then i would say, start with a tune up.

i had dry gas in it since it was such cold, and i dont think i was too high up. it may be that though, and yeah it was the first time that it happened, so maybe it is one of those two things

most likely one of the two, and that ethanol just isnt good for any engines at all. If thats the only time it happened and it dosnt happen on a regular basis, i wouldnt worry about it.

This reminds me of the fuel pump TSB but I'd think you'd have felt this way earlier. After a sustained cruise, any medium to hard acceleration will result in a stumble. Otherwise, I'll also say it's probably bad gas. But if it happens frequently AFTER some sustained, steady state cruising then you may want to look into the fuel pump TSB.

Tank up and add a bottle of HEET and see if it happens again. I'd also clean the TB just because.
