Default Back to stock

Taking my 08 GT in for warranty work and didn't want to invalidate my warranty so I took a few minutes and removed the Steeda CAI then tuned to back to stock. Took it out for a test run and what a pussycat! I guess I had forgotten how much of a change it made when I added the mods. Wow.

Unless the warranty work had anything to do with the CAI & tune, you wasted your time. I've yet to remove my CAI & tune for any trips to the dealer.

I think it's dealer dependent and perhaps further than that, dependent on the work required.
My dealership knows my car well so it's pointless trying to remove/hide anything, but despite that they carried out warranty work on my noisy Diff clutch pack even though the motor is blown and also switched out the clunking strut top mounts even though the car is riding on FRPP suspension.

That said, if I took it back for major work, like a spun bearing in the motor or a broken clutch, I wouldn't be surprised if they finally made a stand.

All dealers are different I guess is what I'm saying.

Running the stock tune sucks.
Warranty will depend on the dealer. I've taken mine in with cai and other mods and custom tune, and had no issues. But, if your local dealer is picky about anything, reverting to stock and stock tune is not a bad thing to do, just to be safe.

It's probably not necessary, but it's not a bad idea. Considering that switching the intake and tune only takes like 30 mins, not that bad of an idea. Plus, I like working on my car, so any if I have an excuse to get under the hood I'll do it.

Some dealers are OK with CAI others are not. There's no consistency across the board.

T'aint the CAI that I worry about - its the 93 race tune! If they read the codes for any reason they would probably flip! And my stock tune won't handle the Steeda CAI.
