E-Brake Help
My e-brake isn't working. It doesn't feel like the cable is hooked up, meaning I'm not feeling any resistance when I pull it.
How do I check if the cable is hooked up or adjusted?
Thanks

Either the cable came loose in the car or under the car. Worse case, it may have broken under the car. In your center glove box you have to remove the cover behind the e-brake to get at it from there. Under the car, just look for the cable running under your car. I haven't checked for the location of it under this car, but it should be the same as other vehicles. Either location the adjustment should just be a simple nut that you tighten to get more grip. If it came off the handle you have to reposition it.

ok...
So, I popped the box out of my center console so I could get to my e-brake handle. I found that the cable is broken, right at the handle.
I referred to my Chiltons manual to see what I would be dealing with, as far as removal and reinstalation goes, as well as call my local mechanic. My mechanic seems to think there is more than one cable and can't quote me a price on fixing it without me bringing the car in.
Has anyone replaced the e-brake cable on their sn95? Is there more than one cable? How hard is it to put in?
Thoughts and comments very welcome.
Thanks

There is a short single cable going from the handle to a 1-2 cable connector. The two cables from there go to each wheel.
Looks like a pretty straight forward replacement.
Here in a description of the setup. You can get the replacement procedure here as well.

thanks for the help, btw.
Just got back from the auto parts store. They comfirmed what you said about the short single cable. Unfortunatley, I have to order it from Ford, so I'm going to get that done today.
Once again, Thanks for the help.

Anyways, it was the same part I needed anyways. I called Ford and had to order it. Cost me just under 50 bucks.
Thanks again.
