Yes I did change the filter. Only two bolts very easy. Got it from amazon.com for $14.

While under there all afternoon(lol) I saw the two unused bungs in my header collectors. The perfect location for the wideband I am gonna install. Prolly will install that gauge even before the SC goes in. Doesn't look difficult at all.

As far as dealership visit.....I don't trust them. Mine would charge double of mainland stores. The price you pay for living here.

It did read that it was just a metal mesh, perhaps the machine pushes all the gunk out?
The filter is not a mesh filter. It is a fiber material in an enclosed case. A flush machine does not generate additional pressure to force anything out. A flush machine simply uses the transmission pump to circulate the oil through it. I own a shop, and have one.
The transmission in these cars is easy to service, simply due to the drain and fill nature. Refilling it without knowing how much to put back in is where the problem lies. Using Alldata as my guide (which has info supplied by all manufacturers), I can tell you it sucks in this case.
It says to refill with 4 qts, then drive the car to get the fluid temp between 80-130 degrees, as well as to circulate the fluid throughout the trans. At that point you pull out the small plug in the drain plug, and either add fluid if nothing comes out or let it come out until it stops. I did this, and even though fluid came out when I plugged it back up, it was still not enough. It was slipping like crazy. I know I have put in a little over 5 qts and I may still be a bit low at this point.

Exactly, even the pros have problems filling. Bottom line: put in exactly what you drained out. Taking in account for what's on your shirt, driveway etc..... lol... but serious.
