IMO the tether was a PITA! I ripped that thing out the first time it swung the cap and it hit the car...LOL

lol, losing a gas cap is one of the reasons i like the capless thing on the 10 up cars, all cars should come with that.

weird.. can't imagine how the tether could cause any problems.. i think you'd have to be really clumsy/lazy to let the gas cap smack your car hard enough to even matter... i dont even know if that would be possible for it to damage te clear coat at all..

well I just never tolerate ANYTHING hitting my car...believe me I am never lazy or clumsy with my cars LOL...the damn thing tapped the car and it's life was over...simple as that...if that doesnt bother you I am fine with it...I suppose you allow your car to get rained on also??

Yeah I'm with you there. I don't want anything tapping my car.

Like I said in my previous post, are any of you familiar with the Stant InStant Fill cap? It basically turns any Mustang into a capless like the 2010+'s.

Pff, if I had a dollar for every gas cap I've left on the trunk... I'd have $2.

Anyway, it's not a big deal. Everybody's done it, and if they say they haven't, they're lying. Don't feel bad.
