Default Powershifting.. Smells like burnt plastic?

I recently started powershifting (yesterday lol) and i did one today for more practice and for the first time when i shifted the rpms were jumpy around redline for a good few seconds and i hesistated and let off the gas and stopped. Shortly after that i smelled a terrible burning smell like my car was on fire. I am guessing it can be the clutch? What else can it be, and was the rpms jumping a normal thing to do? usually i just get a good wheel spin. Any thoughts of this and how bad is this for my tranny/clutch. i have a cai/tune and axle backs. No serious mods, stock shifter as well. Thanks

Sounds like you're putting a good glaze on that clutch.

What's the point in powershifting? I've gotten my best times at the track shifting the regular way.

The point is keeping the rpms up between shifts. I don't care how fast you can shift, if you lift then you are dropping rpms between shifts and it will result in a slower time.

I've never power shifted my car, but I can see why it would lower your ET. Datalog your rpms and see how much they drop between shifts.
