+1 on intake and tune! As said earlier it will be like driving a new car. Biggest power gain you can bolt on aside from FI.

Any suggestions as to which I should do first?
Check out our Power Pak for your '05: http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-u...d-mustang.html

We've seen around 30-35HP and 25-30 ft/lbs TQ gains to the wheels with our CAI & tuner combo. Our CAI is made in the USA and features a lifetime warranty.

Let me know if I can help you with anything.

And again, the potential for LTs is still much higher for any future mods.
Technically, it's against the law IN ANY STATE to remove a properly functioning catalytic converter. It doesn't matter if you replace it with an aftermarket unit or not. There are places (read CA) where if the emissions inspector is being a tool you WILL NOT PASS even if you have aftermarket cats. It may not be an issue for everyone, but it is an issue for some.

One of my cats had a hole in it.

Weirdest thing...

I appreciate all the responses!! Looks like the tuner and CAI it is for starters. Hopefully I can get it before I have to put her away for the winter.

I run Brenspeed's 93 octane tune and C&L's "Racer" cai. Love it!

Run a high octane tune for a few weeks and then switch back to original stock tune. You'll be like "What the hell? I don't remember my acceleration being this slow!"

+1! Also when you put the intake on, take a few extra minutes and clean your Throttle Body. I put everything on and a week later read about the TSB on the Throttle body and it made a big difference and since you will already be pulling the intake you might as well. Enjoy!

im going through a similar issue with my mustang. I have an 06 gt and im not sure if i want to buy an intake and tuner first or get my BBK longtubes and xpipe first. As much as i really want the sound of those nasty longtubes, it wouldnt make much sense to install them and a catted X without a proper tune (from what ive been reading lately, correct me if im wrong anyone).

My suggestion is get a tune-reqiured intake AND tune it. Wouldn't make much sense to buy one that doesn't require a tune because it'll basically just be under the hood for looks.

The Air Raid / Tuner combo at americanmuscle.com will give you the most power and its on sale right now at $590. Also, you get free tunes for life so if you purchase those shorty headers you can email them a new mod list and they'll get you a new specific tune, FREE. A little expensive? Yes, But in the long run its worth it IMO.

I agree with TomKat. Also forget the Shorty Headers everyone says no since you get hardly nothing but a sound improvement from them!
