Default MAC Exhaust Problems

In July I purchased a set of SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back Exhaust, I ran them for a few months
and they were just to loud for a daily driver, So I sold them and bought a set of MAC Axle-Back
Exhaust and I love the Deep tone when starting and at idle, and they are perfect tone at WOT
but Dam that DRONE at 1700 -2000 RPM is so bad my ears bleed. I get cruising at 1900rpm on
the highway at 55 - 65 and the car viberates so bad it buzzes, you know like the guys with the
10 12" subs in the trunk that cause all cars mirrors in a square mile to viberate.

I am seriously thinking about selling these too I can't stand the noise....
will the mufflers break-in and tone down? or is this life in the aftermarket muffler world ?

Is there any other exhaust that have a great low tone with out the drone.
or should I install high flow cats + xpipe with stock mufflers, would this make the stock
exhaust louder and lower tone?

Go to Corsa's website. They are pricey, but Corsa specializes in eliminating drone. Probably why GM chose them as the supplier for the C6 Vette exhaust. I work with their stuff all the time in the marine industry and the quality is first rate. I think several folks on this forum are running them.

I have the JBA's on mine. There is a slight resonance at around 2000 rpm but not too annoying INMOP. You still get a low throaty authoritative sound from idle to WOT. The sound is kicked up a few notches from stock, the rolled chrome tips look real good bumped up to 4" too.............

I have Flowmasters new American Thunder mufflers and I love them. There is that drone at 2000 rpms in 5th gear but that's the only gear. Only does it in overdrive I guess. Just wanted to let ya know I love the sound and I recommend them to anyone.
