RE: Question for people with 4.10's only
I apologize for answering even though I'm not a 4.10 owner, but...
You do realize 5th gear is overdrive don't you? a .62 transmission gear ratio isn't going to give you much of anything but fuel economy.

Thats great, yeah I know its final drive, but that doesnt mean that it has to be a worthless gear for pickup. I just want a little bit more from it thats all. Like in my dads porsche, every gear pulls pretty hard, even 6th. And I know its a porsche and yada yada, but there is no reason why we can't have a little pull in 5th. thats all

Quick question for ya, Tik_Tok...I've been looking at the 5th gear ratios of 3.55s and 3.73s and they seem to be around 0.68 or 0.67, so if the 4.10s have a 5th gear ratio of 0.62, then the 4.10s would give me the best of both worlds, right? Acceleration in the lower gears and lower RPMs (and hence more MPGs) in 5th on the highway. I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place here as gas prices in the UK are currently running at around $6.00 or so per gallon. I'd say about 60% of my current driving is highway, but I REALLY wanna have some fun with the other 40%, ya know?

Guess I just need to figure out which TR-3650 they've got in the 'Stang.
