annoying squeek
Hi guys im new to the forum, and i have only owned my mach 1 for 3 weeks.
Until about 3 days ago my 04 mach 1 has been running perfectly fine, but now there is a squeek.
The squeek is now happening more and more, as it used to happen when the engine was warm.. The squeek happens at 2000-2300 rpms, but only when the car is underload (in gear). If i rev the engine to this level it does not happen. The squeek i believe is coming from the engine but i could be wrong.. Any suggestions guys?[/align]

RE: annoying squeek
You need a louder exhaust......... haha just kidding. can you be more specific about what type of squeak? like belt sounding, or could it be the infamous shaker squeak???
Edit: A4 or M5, maybe TOB?

+1 on the belt. How many miles is on the car? And when was the last tune-updone? My car did the same thing, I used a belt dressing spray. Cleared the squeak right up. Or maybe you need to change the belt. Good luck.

RE: annoying squeek
I immediately went to belt in my mind. Check your idler pulley tension. Also, take a bar of soap and find a place to safely touch it to the ribbed side of the belt with the car running. BE CAREFUL!!!!
Take the car out for a spin and if your sqeaking stops, you have your smoking gun. New belt. If you do this and still have the squeak, give us some more detail...
