Hi so i lost comprehension in my 95 Ford mustang which is a base model and has a 4.6l single over head cam which is a 5 speed manual so I got given a 4.6l dohc from a 03 Lincoln avaitor which is auto also it's a complete engine with wiring harness how can I get it to work in my 95 what all am i gonna have to do because I have my old engine out and new engine sitting in front of my mustang

Interesting that you have a '95 with a 4.6. To my knowledge, the 4.6 was not introduced in Mustang until model year 1996; Ford had a TON of 5.0HOs already inventoried when '95 production stopped, and sold them through Ford Motorsports, $2195 each. I bought 6.

Unless someone swapped one in, your 95 should have either a 5.0 v8 or a 3.8 v6.


Either way, as far as the swap goes, you should be able to install one. You'll need new motor mounts, probably a tranny mount, drive shaft etc etc. I'm sure there are a few guys on here that chime in on that part of it.
