New Guy need ideas for power
Whats up, i have a 2000 mustang GT and im looking to get some more power out of it. The car has 120k on it so i know if i supercharge it ill blow the motor up. I was thinking about stroking the original block, heads, alluminum flywheel, rear end gears, throttle body, cams. I have been looking for good heads for the 4.6 but cant find anything anyone have any ideas that could help me?

How much power are you looking for?You can get a decent upgrade w/ bolt ons.If you want more, Noticed a guy trying to get rid of heads, cams, and intake for $800. 120k on that motor i'd be careful of doing to much

RE: New Guy need ideas for power
Welcome!!!!!
If I were you I would forged the block first. I don't see reason to spend $2000+ on a car if it's goiutng to break not to far into the future. If your going N/A: ported heads (stock heads, forget the patriot heads), 270h or 274h cams, LT's, mid-pipe, cat-back, all regular bolt on's, and a 75-100 shot of nitrous (personal opinion) and there's all ways F/I: Kenne bell or Pro charger are the best plus all the regular bolt on's. In average N/A= $2700 - $3000 F/I = $4000+, but again, with a high mile car, get forged internals, remember you can always go bigger with forged internals Hope this helps!!!!!

RE: New Guy need ideas for power
The block itself should be fine and if you replace the internals it should hold for any of the bolt ons you have suggested. Check with the 4.6 Modular section and see what they say about a good set of heads...JMO hope it helps and welcome to the forum! J
