2007 Mustang Question

2007 Mustang Question
Working on my daughters 2007 Mustang. Looking for a replacement Console Shift Slide for the Automatic. Last night we couldn't get the key out of the ignition and I saw that the slide in front of the shifter was binding up. Looked on You Tube and saw others had the same problem and mentioned that no one sells the Plastic Slide so a few suggested making one out of a Black Plastic Binder. Not a problem but I would rather have the right part in place. Does anyone know if there is a source for this part that I need. In the mean time I made a duplicate out of a black plastic binder like I saw others do. It works fine but I don't like not having a Red Indicator showing what gear the vehicle is in. I could of taken the old one off of the original plastic strip but there was no way I could find a way to attach it to the new piece where I would of felt confident it would stay in place. Any help or suggestions. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction in order to get a real replacement auto trans Slide for our 2007 Mustang.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I went by what they call it at the CJ Pony Mustang Parts website. The have them but only for early Mustangs made during the 60's it seems. https://www.cjponyparts.com/console-...RoCiZoQAvD_BwE

Just noticed after reading at the link you provided me on Ebay that this fellow selling them is the same fellow who has a You Tube Video showing how to make them out of a Vinyl Binder like a couple of others show on You Tube. He even shows his You tube video on Ebay in his Advertisement. If you look at the video you will see where he made extras to sell. Exactly what he is doing on Ebay. All the power to him it takes a bit of time to make them and he deserves to be compensated for doing so. Problem is these home made blinds do not have a Shift Indicator on them so you will not see what gear you are in. Even if you could attach the indicator from the old Slide I don't see a way to attach it that I would feel comfortable with that I feel will stay attached because the Binder material is flimsy. As I mentioned above I made one yesterday out of a Vinyl Binder I purchased at the Dollar Store. I also purchased a roll of Red Color Duct Tape and cut a piece to use as a Shift Indicator and stuck it on the right side of the shifter close to the console as it was in Drive to indicate it. There it is in place for all the gears a Temporary Fix until I can find the right Slide or Blind what ever you want to call it if at all possible out there or it may turn into a permanent fix being I won't purchase a New Shifter just for that Plastic Piece I need.
