Things to check 1st. Does the battery have at least 12.5 volts? Does the engine turn when you turn the key? If yes then check fuel shutoff safety switch. Its the red button in the trunk, push it. Is the theft light flashing real fast? If so check the Pcm fuse. Any codes?

Yes the engine tries to start but just won’t, the red button is down. Thought about maybe the fuel pump is out ?

We took it to the ford dealership and had two new keys programmed for it because the theft light was flashing but that still didn’t fix the issue. Put it on the machine at auto zone and it gave a code that said engine disabled due to theft went back to the ford dealership they said it’s not in theft mode.

The new owner area is no place for tech questions but there are videos all over YouTube on how to fix this. Also, check pcm fuse. It's under the hood. Check the owner's manual

Just Google search "how to reset PATS mustang " you will find that as long as your grounds are clean and the pcm fuse is good then there is a procedure to reset the passive anti theft system. Turn the key to the on position and let the car sit for ten minutes with the power on, then take the key out and lock it and unlock it. Should reset it, there is also another procedure, turn the key on and off then times, this might also reset it. After like 8 times you will hear the locks cycle
