I always thought of Nitto and their high performance tires as drag radials, and that's a no no since we get quite a bit of rain and snow in Jersey.

Thank you guys.

Now, how well these tires perform in SNOW is another story.. These are mainly for dry/wet conditions. Having lived in NJ for 20 years I know what it's like, and now since I am heading towards Kentucky which also gets snow I am prepared to buy a DD anyway.

I think Falken makes a 295/40 btw. Just throwing that out there.

I'm in the process of finding a $2000 DD for this winter but haven't find anything yet. I wouldn't trust an all season tire anymore than an all summer tire (unless it's a drag radial of course). A winter tire with chains on it is a different story though.

Riptide, thanks for the input, I will look that up.

Thanks. I might actually have to look into the Hankooks. I'm going to look up reviews.

And just to make it even more confusing, the Nitto 555RII Extreme is a near R-comp. Lots of guys use them for track days, drive to and from the track with no need to swap tires.
