Default Shelby GT mods

I bought an 07 SGT (black) in Feb and put a Paxton Novi 2200 supercharger on it - with great results. Now I'm thinking of the next upgrade; maybe change the exhaust for some added grunt, or simply take off the cats for some added hp and louder noise. Possibly up the boost (currently at 9psi). Would added parts be needed for increased boost? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks.

first mod i had to get after my novi install was bigger breaks. found a great deal on gt500 brembos on ebay. of ourse, that means you'll have to update the wheels...

I don't know how much boost, per say, your engine cane hold...people usually say around 450-500 rwhp. How close to that are you? If you're below that, all you need is a pulley swap to up the boost to get you there. Once you start going higher than that you're on borrowed time as you're going to blow your rods. I hear that boost-a-pumps are a popular upgrade though.

As for the exhaust...losing the cats will get you about 15 rwhp...other than that, you'd need header back for a gain (expensive). Right now I'm looking at getting a new throttle body...normally people say not to unless you're boosted..which you are...so you could gain 10-30 RWHP for around $350 with a GT500 throttle body and adapter plate. Good luck!

an expensive brake upgrade is the next step after a power mod. The Shelby GT has stock Mustang brakes, not upgraded ones like the GT500.

Thanks for the advice! Have been thinking about brake upgrades, along with some Shelby razor wheels... which will allow for wider tires and better traction than the 235's I have currently (fish-tailing is fun but not at 90mph). I'll start by removing the cats, and the throttle body upgrade is a good idea. I run on stock internals so don't want to go much more above what i have (approx 440rwhp)...
