I liked the 94-98 SN-95's and of course I like the S197's. The only New Edge's I ever cared for were special stangs: the Bullitt edition, Mach 1's, and Mystichrome Cobras.

The Mach I is by far my favorite 'Stang from these years. At least until the new Bullitt edition comes back in a few years! Overall, my all-time favorite 'Stangs are the 1970 Boss 302 and my Dad's old 1979 Mercury Capri RS 302.

You listed your car as Merlot... I believe the actual color is Crimson Red. Do you have the badge on the interior that says 40th Anniversary Edition? or just the badge on the fender?
I have owned both... the 40th Anniversary Edition (limited edition in Oxford White) and the stripes are Arizona Beige, not gold, but they do Look gold. I picked it up in October of 2004 and kept it until this last June which is when I traded it in on my 2006 Stampede Edition Mustang. There are so many things that they did RIGHT in the new body style. I do have the pony package as part of my Stampede Edition so I have some upgrades over a stock V6 but WOW, what a difference!
The best thing to do is to go to the dealership and drive one.... First drive a V6, then a V6 with Pony, a GT, etc.... and compare them to what you have now with your 40th. Afterall, its your money, your car, your decision, right?
