they look like sleepers

hence the reason why most ppl dont think of them as "performance" cars

its a luxorious "ill pwn u" car

The CTS-V did indeed have the LS6, a heads and cam LS1. I'm not sure what the new ones have. And they were/are 6-speeds. An LS6 CTS-V is about equal to a 6-speed LS1 F-body.
I'm with him^
I'm a regular on ls1tech and they say that a stock cts-v is very comparable to a hardtop ls1 f-body with I/E.
I may be wrong, but I thought the new caddy has the ls2, same motor as the non-z06 c6?

C6 VETTE, any info on this as you seem to know the ins/outs of everything GM? (LOL I don't blame you, badass cars)

im 99% sure it has the LS2 cus they completely stopped putting the LS1/LS6 engines in any cars...... so basically pre '05 is the LS6 and the '05 and up have the LS2. both badass motors..... the funny thing is the only thing different appearance wise between the CTS and the CTS-V is a mesh upper and lower grille, bigger wheels and tires, and a small V badge on the fender. they even sound mellow. so if you ever get challenged look closely and prepare to get whooped

The '04 and '05 CTS-V has the LS6 engine, the '06 got the LS2.

You are correct on the motors and the appearance differences. The performance differences are radical in the suspension, and the car uses a T-56 6 speed. It is a little sloppy, but pretty easy to drive. Biggest problem with the cars are the rear ends, but luckily no problems here. 3rd gear in these cars is straight nasty. Really strong on the highway, from a dig, racing is a little tougher because of some wheel hop issues. You can also feel the drag on the highways at high speeds compared to my WS6. I LOVE the car though. The handling is amazing, and the built in lateral G-meter will get you in trouble! I'm young (24) but have had Fbodies my whole life and I enjoy being able to fit 4-5 people in the car, and still enjoy having a performance car. I was amazed how sluggish, heavy, and overweight my TA felt after I had been driving the CTSV for a month, and drove the TA. I had been thinking about keeping it up until that point. I haven't ran anyone yet, so I don't have a first hand account of any racing. Lata..

I think he is referring to the feel. Not that it actually is heavier then the CTS-V.

Correct, based on feel in handling, the car "feels" about 4-500 pounds lighter in the steering alone.
